Bergamot essential oil is cold pressed from the Bergamot Orange, grown for the purposes of essential oil harvesting.
Common Uses:
Bergamot essential oil is traditionally used as a mood lifter and an antiseptic.
Common Applications:
Insomnia and nervous anxiety:  Run a deep warm bath at night (not too hot or it will make you feel worse), light a candle, and switch off the light.  Put 3 drops of Bergamot essential oil into the bath just before you get in, and swirl it around.  If you prefer, add the oil to 1 tablespoon of powdered whole milk, which acts as an emulsifier, and then add it to the bath.  The milk will also make your skin feel lovely and smooth.  Stay in the bath for about 15 minutes, enjoying the vapors of the Bergamot essential oil, and letting yourself unwind.
Depressive Moods: The uplifting aroma of whole Bergamot essential oil may be helpful in alleviating the heaviness of depression.  To prevent the essential oil from touching the skin, put 3 drops on a handkerchief and pin it to your clothes, so that your body warmth causes the oil to evaporate and bathe you in a cloud of beautiful scent during the day.  Alternatively, put 3 drops in a vaporizer, or keep a small bottle of Bergamot essential oil in your pocket or at your desk, and just unscrew the lid when you need to change your mood.
Blends well with the following essential oils:
Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Mandarin, Nutmeg, Orange, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Vetiver and Ylang-ylang.
