Description
Here is a neat Edison Blue Amberol cylinder, #3915, the song "Carolina Sunshine", performed by Vernon Dalhart, with his buddies in the chorus (Gladys Rice, Helen Clark, John Young, and Donald Chalmers), and orchestra. This was recorded on July 24, 1919, and Edison released the cylinder in February 1920. A sweet waltz with a wonderful melody and fine singing, very enjoyable. Mr. Dalhart was a classically trained tenor and this was done about five years before he started singing "mountaineer" or "country" music. The cylinder plays well with moderate surface noise.
