    Description

This is a historically accurate and appropriate leather belt, made from high quality cow hide. Custom sized, hand assembled and ready to use - no connecting of the ends is required. Dimensions are Length (see below)  x 1/4" x 1MM thickness - just like the original. Don't make compromises by using a "stretchy" rubber belt with your historic phonograph. This leather belt will work perfectly on your player - exactly as Thomas Edison designed.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO CONFIRM YOUR BELT LENGTH REQUIREMENT PRIOR TO THIS ITEM SHIPPING TO YOU PLEASE INCLUDE IN A BUYER NOTE WITH YOUR ORDER - I WILL NOT SHIP YOUR ORDER TO YOU WITHOUT THIS CONFIRMATION.
    Length Guide:
Edison Standard Model A Wax Cylinder Players - Most but not all of these machines use 10 1/2" belts
Edison Standard Model B, C, D, E - Most but not all of these machines use 11.2" belts
Edison Diamond Disc Players (Model A-80, B80) These machines either use 14" or 17" belts
Other Players: You will need to provide length requirement (Maximum 17.5")
THE BEST WAY TO CONFIRM THE BELT LENGTH REQUIREMENT FOR YOUR MACHINE IS TO MEASURE YOUR EXISTING BELT'S LENGTH.  IF YOU DON'T CURRENTLY HAVE A BELT, YOU CAN MAKE  "TEST BELTS" USING A PIECE OF STRING - ENSURE THAT YOUR TEST BELT LOOP CAN BE FITTED AROUND THE BELT PULLEYS WITH MINIMAL SLACK .  IF YOUR MACHINE ALSO HAS A (MIDDLE) TENSION PULLEY THAT PUSHES AGAINST THE BELT TO ENSURE SOLID TRACTION, YOU WILL NEED TO ALLOW SOME ADDITIONAL BELT SLACK FOR THIS.  LEATHER BELTS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO STRETCH LIKE RUBBER BELTS. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO STRETCH THE BELT DURING INSTALLATION YOU WILL DAMAGE THE BELT.
    Installation Instructions (For B-80):
First remove the front grill by lifting it up and pulling the bottom forward. You then you need to remove the top grill on your phonograph. To do this remove the six small screws, and push pu carefully from underneath to remove. the top grill has a left and right side connected together with two small nails so be careful when removing. Once the top grill is removed you will see 4 mounting screws that hold the turntable in place. Take off those screws and then slightly lift  turntable snd slide it about an inch towards the back of the unit. This will provide you with the slack you need to install the belt.
Going thought the frot grill, loop the leather belt over the pulley under the turntable and the bully above the motor, while simultaneously pulling the middle tension wheel to the left of the belt. When you release the tension belt it should push against the belt to exert tension on it. Your can then carefully slide the turntable forward, to realign with the mounting screw holes. reattach the turntable mounting screws and the top grill, and your phonograph is ready to play!!
